SPUP LIBRARIANS PARTICIPATE IN THE CAGAYAN HERITAGE, CULTURE, AND ARTS SUMMIT 2025

Demonstrating its commitment to preserving cultural heritage and promoting lifelong learning, the Knowledge and Information Resource Network (KIRN) of St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) actively participated in the Cagayan Heritage, Culture, and Arts Summit, conducted by the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center on October 28–30, 2025.

Representing SPUP at the three-day summit were Ms. Maria Cristina M. Malana, Ms. Jennifer Rosopa, and Mr. Mark Anthony Laude. The event gathered cultural workers, librarians, museum professionals, educators, researchers, historians, artists, and heritage advocates

from across the province to engage in meaningful discussions on the preservation, promotion, and appreciation of Cagayan's rich cultural and historical legacy.

The summit featured a series of lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and cultural presentations highlighting the importance of safeguarding local heritage, strengthening cultural identity, and fostering institutions collaboration among dedicated conservation. to Participants heritage gained valuable insights into current initiatives, best practices, and emerging strategies for

documenting, preserving, and promoting the province's history, traditions, arts, and cultural resources.

Through their participation, the SPUP delegates enhanced their understanding of heritage preservation explored opportunities and for integrating local history and culture into library services, information management, and educational programs. The knowledge and

experiences gained during the summit further reinforce KIRN's role in supporting the University's mission of academic excellence, cultural stewardship, and community engagement.

The participation of SPUP librarians and library staff in the Cagayan Heritage, Culture, and Arts Summit reflects the University's continuing dedication to professional development and its commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Cagayan. By engaging in initiatives that celebrate history, culture, and the arts, KIRN continues to strengthen its contribution to education, research, and the preservation of knowledge for present and future generations.
