LIBRARY INSTRUCTION PROGRAM

Rationale

The Library Instructional Program (LIP) aims to provide the basic knowledge and skills needed by the pupils and faculty in acquiring rich information through the use of library resources and facilities. In response to the constantly shifting needs of the learners and the emerging thrust of the school in today’s information age, the library instruction program will also provide varied opportunities and meaningful learning experiences to pupils to enhance their reading skills, thus making them conscious readers and critical thinkers. The librarians collaborate with the teaching faculty of the different subject areas to facilitate learning and prepare activities that are appropriate to all levels.

The Library Instruction Program is composed of three components: The Library Orientation, Continuing Instruction Program and Maximization of Library Resources. Pupils and Faculty are given annual orientation and reorientation on the library resources and services. The designated librarians of the Grade School prepared the Library Module which contains the topics that are relevant to the needs of the pupils.
